What is custom tissue paper, and who uses it?

It is thin, light paper printed with your logo or pattern and cut into flat sheets. You wrap products in it before they go into a bag or a box.

Clothing boutiques, gift shops, beauty brands and online sellers use it most. It protects items from scuffs and turns opening an order into a small moment.

Our photos show four ways it is used: a pattern wrap sealed with a sticker, a box liner, a loose logo sheet and a check pattern fold.

Which sheet size of tissue paper should I order?

Choose the sheet size around your most common item and your packaging. A sheet should wrap the item with a few inches of overlap.

For gift bags, the sheet should be about twice the height of the bag. That leaves enough to fold into points that stand above the top edge.

How does printing on tissue paper work?

Tissue is thin and soaks up ink, so designs print as a repeat pattern across the sheet. One or two colors give the cleanest results.

Bold shapes and thick lines hold up best. Hairline details and tiny text can soften on such a light sheet.

Spacing matters as much as the logo. A logo repeated every few inches means it shows however the sheet is folded. Wide gaps can leave a wrapped item with no logo on top.

  • Use your simplest logo mark, not a full lockup with small text.
  • Leave generous space between repeats so the pattern breathes.
  • Pick an ink that contrasts with the tissue color.
  • Send vector artwork so edges stay crisp.

Can I match the tissue to my bags?

Yes, and that is where tissue earns its cost. A bag, a sticker and a tissue sheet in one color family look like a planned brand.

Send us your bag color and logo. We set the tissue pattern and ink to suit, and show both on the free proof.

If you already order bags from us, add tissue to the same quote. Our ribbon handle paper bags are often paired with printed tissue.

Choosing a tissue color and ink

White tissue is the most flexible. It takes any ink color, and it looks clean in both kraft and white bags.

Colored tissue makes a stronger statement. Soft pastels suit beauty and baby brands, while black tissue suits fashion and jewelry.

Choose one ink and keep it close to your logo color. On colored tissue, check that the ink contrasts enough to read.

A tissue that matches the inside of a luxury bag looks deliberate. A tissue that clashes looks like a leftover from another order.

If you are unsure, start with white tissue and one logo color. It works with nearly any bag you might add later.

How do I wrap clothing in tissue paper?

With practice, staff wrap an item in under a minute. Keep a stack of sheets and stickers by the register so it becomes routine. For online orders, wrap at the packing bench before the item goes into the mailer.

  1. Lay one sheet flat with the logo side down.
  2. Fold the garment neatly and place it in the middle.
  3. Fold the two long sides over the garment, one over the other.
  4. Fold the ends in like an envelope.
  5. Seal the overlap with a logo sticker on top.
  6. Slide the wrapped item into the bag or box.

How many sheets of tissue does each order use?

Most shops use one sheet per wrapped item. Gift bags usually take two or three sheets: one in the base and two folded at the top.

Box liners need one sheet laid across the box, with the edges folded over the contents. Large boxes may need two overlapped. Line the box first, then add the product, then fold the edges in.

To estimate an order, count your monthly sales and multiply by your sheets per order. Add extra for busy gift seasons like Valentine's and Mother's Day.

Packing tips for tissue-wrapped orders

Store tissue flat and dry, in the carton it came in or on a wide shelf. Damp air makes thin sheets cling and crease, and bent stacks are hard to use at a busy counter.

Wrap the item before it goes in the bag, not after. Pulling tissue around an item inside a bag tears it.

Fold top-fill sheets into points by pinching the center of each sheet and lifting. It takes seconds and looks finished.

Mistakes to avoid with printed tissue

Send a photo of your bag or box with the artwork. It helps us spot clashes before the proof.

  • Printing a detailed logo with fine text that blurs on tissue.
  • Choosing a sheet too small to close around your main product.
  • Using a dark tissue that hides a dark logo ink.
  • Ordering tissue in a color that clashes with your bags.
  • Wrapping items that are still damp, such as fresh-pressed fabric.

Ordering custom tissue paper

Tell us the sheet size, tissue color, ink color and how many sheets you need. Attach your logo as a vector file if you have one.

Our reply covers the price in writing plus a free proof of the repeat pattern. The sheets are made in 4–6 business days after sign-off.

To price tissue with matching bags, use our wholesale quote request form and list both items.

Tissue paper or crinkle shred?

Tissue wraps and covers; it is best when an item needs protecting or hiding until it is opened. Shred fills space, which suits baskets and boxes with gaps.

Many gift shops use both, with tissue around the item and shred underneath. Our crinkle paper shred for gift boxes page covers the filler side.

Custom Tissue Paper: questions

12 answers. Type a word to narrow the list.

What sheet size of tissue do boutiques use most?

Around 20 × 30 in covers most folded clothing and medium gift bags. We can also cut sheets to your own size.

Can tissue paper be printed in full color?

Tissue suits one or two flat colors best, because it is thin and absorbs ink. Tell us your design and we will advise on the proof.

Can I print my logo on colored tissue?

Yes. Pick an ink that contrasts with the tissue so the logo stays clear. White on a dark sheet or black on a pale one both work.

How many tissue sheets go in a gift bag?

Usually two or three. One sheet lines the base and one or two fold into points at the top.

Is printed tissue paper strong enough to wrap shoes?

Tissue is for wrapping and presentation, not protection from knocks. Use it inside a shoe box rather than as the only layer.

Will the tissue paper logo show through on the other side?

On thin tissue some ink can show faintly from the back. A spaced repeat pattern makes this look intentional.

Can tissue paper match my bag color?

Yes. Send your bag color and logo, and we set the tissue and ink to suit on the proof.

How should I store custom tissue paper?

Keep it flat and dry, away from damp floors and windows. Moisture makes sheets cling and crease.

Can I order tissue paper with my paper bags?

Yes. Add tissue to the same quote as your bags. Both are proofed together so the colors match.

What artwork works best for printed tissue?

A simple logo mark or icon in vector format. Avoid fine lines and small text, which can soften on tissue.

Do I need stickers to seal tissue paper?

Not always, but a small logo sticker on the overlap keeps the wrap closed and finishes the look.

Can tissue paper be cut to fit my mailer box?

Yes. Give us the inside measurements of the box and we cut sheets to wrap or line it.
